Aditya Birla Group partnered with Wohlig Transformations, as implementation partner on a Google-led Gemini Enterprise trial (24 August to 15 October 2026), to give about 750 licensed users across three Gemini Enterprise apps (Group, AB Capital and ABFRL) a governed assistant grounded in their own Microsoft 365 content.
Wohlig also ran a week-by-week enablement programme and an Antigravity developer-tooling pilot alongside the trial. By 11 October, Google’s usage reports showed about 506 active users and about 31.5k chats.
The trial window has closed; the production decision rests with the Group.
Project Overview
Aditya Birla Group runs separate Microsoft 365 estates for its corporate centre, its financial-services arm and its fashion and retail business. The trial put Gemini Enterprise in front of users across more than a dozen group businesses and functions, with each of the three apps bound to its own Microsoft Entra ID security group.
It was a Google-led programme: Google ran the weekly cadence and platform fixes, Group IT owned user communications, and Wohlig supplied the delivery layer.
That layer covered identity and connector setup (from an on-site working session on 15–17 July), Model Armor screening, a pre-built agent library, a custom connector, a telemetry and ROI dashboard, enablement and daily support, and the move between regional endpoints.
The trial began as a four-week pilot and was extended three times, to 15 October.
The Challenge
Separate Microsoft 365 estates: Each group domain has its own tenant of Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. A useful assistant had to search each user’s own content, honour existing permissions and copy nothing into a new store.
Identity and controls for three businesses: Sign-in had to be federated through Entra ID with multi-factor authentication, and each business needed to reach its own app. Regulated businesses also needed sensitive-data screening in place before they could take part.
Evidence of value, at usable speed: Leadership wanted user-level adoption evidence that out-of-the-box analytics did not yet provide, and early answers on the initial endpoint were slower than users expected.
Getting hundreds of users started: A licence is not use. About 750 people across many businesses needed onboarding, answers and reasons to come back.
Key Objectives
Governed access: Three apps in one Google Cloud project, each bound to its own Entra ID group through Workforce Identity Federation.
Permission-aware grounding: Federated Microsoft 365 connectors (Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams in preview) plus one custom MCP connector for an IT service desk.
Day-one breadth: A roster of 70 pre-built agents across the three apps.
Visible adoption: A customised telemetry and ROI dashboard, plus weekly health-update decks.
Safe, fast use: Model Armor screening with sensitive-data inspection, audit logging and regional endpoints that performed better for users.
Enablement and developer tooling: Office hours, sessions and guides for end users, and an Antigravity pilot for developer teams.
The Solution: Three Governed Apps, Federated Microsoft 365, Measured Adoption and Weekly Enablement
Three Apps, One Project, One Identity Model
The Group, AB Capital and ABFRL apps share one Google Cloud project.
A Workforce Identity Federation pool with a Microsoft Entra ID OpenID Connect provider signs users in, and each app is bound to its own Entra group.
The apps first ran on the Global endpoint and moved to US endpoints from 15 September.
Federated Microsoft 365 Connectors
Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams (public preview) each use a dedicated Entra app registration in federated-search mode.
Queries go to Microsoft at search time and results respect each user’s permissions; nothing is indexed or copied.
By 29 September, the US apps carried 44 connector actions:
Outlook: 16
SharePoint: 11
Teams: 10
OneDrive: 7
A custom MCP server for a ServiceDesk Plus IT service desk runs on Cloud Run with per-user sign-in and is in client testing.
70 Pre-Built Agents
The three apps contain 70 pre-built agents:
Group: 22 agents
ABFRL: 25 agents
AB Capital: 23 agents
These were built with the low-code agent builder across marketing, communications, planning, treasury, finance, HR, IT, research and supply chain.
Variants were created for fashion retail and for lending, insurance, asset management and broking.
Names and one-line descriptions for 50 of the 70 agents were recovered; 20 are not documented in the files reviewed.
Telemetry and ROI Dashboard
A customised version of Google’s reference telemetry application was developed with:
Six BigQuery tables
Four views
17 API endpoints
Two Cloud Run deployments: one group-wide and one filtered to a single group company
The dashboard reconciles to Google’s native analytics export and feeds adoption follow-up lists.
Safety and Audit
Model Armor with a sensitive-data inspection template screens prompts and responses on the US apps. It was attached to all three apps by 17 September.
Google reported 637 items blocked between 7 September and 7 October.
Audit logs are kept for 400 days in a Cloud Logging bucket.
Regional Endpoints
In one observed test, an Outlook daily summary took approximately 1.2 minutes on the Global endpoint and about 16 seconds on a US endpoint.
An Enablement Programme, Week by Week
Across the eight trial weeks, calendar, chat and mail records show the following activities:
28 daily office-hours slots, from 25 August to 21 September
Seven weekly governance calls
47 one-off sessions, comprising:
14 end-user enablement sessions
11 support sessions
Nine readiness, security, kick-off and on-site sessions
Five admin, demo and reporting sessions
Four Antigravity sessions
Four Google and Wohlig preparation calls
This represents 82 dated records, all scheduled or recorded. Attendance was not recorded.
Seven weekly health-update decks were sent to the client’s digital lead. Wohlig also delivered written guides covering Microsoft connectors, mobile access, dashboards, admin capabilities and Antigravity.
Antigravity, Alongside the Trial
Antigravity is Google’s agentic development platform, included with Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus licences on a pooled quota.
Google asked Wohlig to introduce it alongside the trial.
Wohlig wrote the installation and enterprise single-sign-on guide, set up a central IT user remotely, ran onboarding sessions and prepared a training deck.
It was offered to three group businesses:
ABSLI
UltraTech
ABHI
Status: A pilot with one business, with the others invited.
No seat, usage or agent counts are reported.

Technical Innovation
Federated Search, Not Ingestion
Microsoft 365 content stays in Microsoft 365.
Queries run as the signed-in user, so source permissions apply and no copy exists in Google Cloud.
Group-Bound Apps
One Entra security group per app gives each business its own entry point inside a shared project, which suited a trial.
Dashboard That Matches Google’s Console
Duplicate audit-log entries were removed with a de-duplication view.
A list of counted query types replaced a rule that inflated request counts, and Google’s native analytics export became the authoritative query count.
A 10-minute cache and pre-warm reduced BigQuery scanning.
Per-User Custom MCP
The service-desk connector was redesigned from one shared account to per-user sign-in, so each action runs as the person asking.
Wohlig’s Approach
1. Build the Identity and Connector Base
An on-site working session took place from 15–17 July.
Federation, Entra app registrations and connector authorisation were tested end to end.
2. Add Safety Before Launch
Model Armor and sensitive-data inspection were configured and tested in August.
3. Seed the Platform
Skills and a 70-agent roster were loaded so users could start with examples.
4. Enable and Support
Daily office hours, weekly governance calls, end-user sessions, a shared mailbox, guides and an issue tracker were provided.
5. Measure
Telemetry dashboards were introduced from 31 August, along with weekly health-update decks.
6. Tune, Move and Extend
Latency tests were conducted, the apps moved to US endpoints from 15 September, and an Antigravity pilot ran alongside the trial.
